An island wedding offers an idyllic setting for a truly magical celebration. We had the honor of designing one of the largest wedding projects we’ve ever undertaken, hosting over 400 guests in a beautifully curated space. The venue was adorned with an expansive canopy of String and Party Lights, transforming the private location into an enchanting atmosphere, one we had never decorated before—an exciting challenge we embraced.
The venue’s design embraced the natural beauty of its surroundings: a sprawling area dotted with olive trees, a sparkling pool at its center, and endless views of the sea. With String Lights stretched across the entire space from end to end, the ambiance created a romantic, seaside setting where each moment of the couple’s special day was captured beautifully under twinkling lights.
A Romantic Welcome for Guests
Framed by the serene Aegean Sea, the venue’s lighting design enhanced views of the pool and olive groves, creating an atmosphere of rustic elegance. Guests arriving at the reception were welcomed by two luxury-styled Welcome Bars on either side of the entrance, each adorned with glamorous crystal chandeliers, setting a refined elegance that echoed throughout the venue. As they entered the main area, guests sipped on drinks, soaking in the luxurious atmosphere before dinner.
Dining Under the Stars and String Lights
The dinner was hosted beneath olive trees wrapped in String Lights, blending seamlessly into the Greek island landscape. Tables were arranged to provide full views of the waterline and the illuminated pool, which reflected the soft glow of the lights as the sun set. The lights cast a warm, inviting ambiance that embraced each guest, drawing everyone together for an intimate dining experience.
A lavish dinner kicked off the evening, served buffet-style from two beautifully arranged stations with clear views of the pool and sea. Our expert Catering and Bar services from Petit Camion provided guests with immediate, high-quality service, ensuring a seamless dining experience throughout the reception. Every detail, from the food to the impeccable service, left the best impressions.
The overall decoration and organization of the wedding were undertaken by the excellent Wedding Planner Phaedra Liakou with special aesthetics and elegance in all the details of the wedding. While the flowers from Kipos Kalou could not be missing, which enhanced the natural beauty of the venue.
The Magic of a Candlelit Outdoor Ballroom
As dinner concluded, the energy shifted, and the party began in full swing. The dance floor, placed strategically in front of the pool and the DJ, became the heart of the venue, illuminated by the canopy of lights overhead. This setup transformed the area into a magical outdoor ballroom where guests danced under thousands of lights, twinkling like stars in the clear night sky. The vibe elevated as friends and family joined the couple on the dance floor, sharing in their joy. Our Wedding DJ read the crowd perfectly, building excitement with every song.
Finally, it was time for the couple’s first dance. As the music began, they moved gracefully under the sparkling lights, while silver fireworks rose from the floor, creating a breathtaking moment to remember.
This island wedding in Thassos was the perfect blend of sophisticated elegance and natural beauty. From the olive groves and sparkling pool to the expansive String Lights, thoughtful decor, and high-quality catering, every detail came together to create an unforgettable evening that guests will cherish forever.
