Nestled in the enchanting landscape of Epirus, the picturesque village of Papigo, Zagorochoria offers a setting for a traditional wedding and a wedding reception in the heart of the stone-built village. Surrounded by towering mountains, stone-built houses and cobblestone streets, this small Epirotic gem combines the charm of tradition with timeless romance.
Last summer we had the pleasure of participating in a traditional wedding in Papigo that was nothing short of magical. Imagine a space decorated with thousands of String Lights above everyone, casting a soft, golden glow during the night.

The wedding took place in one of the reception venues of Papigκo. We undertook to transform the space ideally so that it harmonized with the natural environment while enhancing the venue’s beauty. As the sun set behind the mountains, the reception area was transformed into a dance floor full of String Lights.
Each table sparkled with candlelight, the colorful flowers that decorated the tables gave a touch of liveliness while adding a warm and intimate touch to the festive atmosphere.

The reception that followed was a celebration that glorified the senses. The long wooden tables were decorated with colorful seasonal flowers inspired by the mountain environment, and vintage tableware and candlesticks beautifully enriched the tables. The couple thought of printing sweatshirts for the guests so that the coolness of the landscape would not prevent them from having fun until the morning.
The dancing quickly became the heart of the evening. Traditional dances were there to honor traditions while quickly alternating with more modern pieces that stirred the guests into a frenetic party. Under the twinkling lights and the clear, starry sky, the couple shared their first dance – an unforgettable moment that radiated love and happiness.
Romance in every detail
Every detail of this wedding was designed to celebrate love in its purest form. The String Lights, the explosions of colorful flowers, and the lush greenery—all came together to create a magical atmosphere. The intimate atmosphere of Papigko made the celebration radiate a unique warmth as if everyone had gathered to witness the couple’s union.
